The Rába-Steiger 250 is one of the most iconic agricultural tractors ever built in Hungary. Production began in the mid-1970s by Rába Hungarian Wagon and Machine Factory under licence from the American Steiger-Cougar Tractor company. With its 250-horsepower engine and articulated steering, it was designed primarily for large-scale farming operations requiring exceptional pulling power.

The Rába-Steiger became a familiar sight on Hungarian collective and state farms. It was widely used for ploughing, deep cultivation and pulling heavy agricultural implements. Thanks to its rugged construction and simple, reliable design, many examples remain operational today.
The dual wheel set significantly improved the Rába-Steiger's traction while reducing ground pressure. It was primarily used in wet field conditions and during the heaviest agricultural operations.
